Daniel Fasting

I am beginning a Daniel Fast on Sunday the 8th.  I have chosen this at this time because I have some real answers I am seeking from God for our family and for me right now.  I thought about waiting until the beginning of Lent but Lent, in my mind, is a lifelong event and not just a season.  The things we leave behind at Lent can be left behind anytime.

I am also doing this, partially, for my health.  The holidays have been hard physically with all the crazy eating and then being sick on top of that.  It is time to detox the body and find some answers for the fibromyalgia symptoms that can help me to feel better long term.

I am only sharing any of this because the information might be of some benefit for someone else.  My prayer and journal time will be private... handwritten... and unless I feel led to share here I won't talk much about it.

I am reading this currently and beginning the elimination process to prepare for Sunday...

last day with coffee today.  Eeeep!  Sugar will be harder, though.  Cheese and eggs might be the hardest for me!  I can do this... because God is stronger than any craving I could possibly have.

So, here are some links for you if you are interested in knowing more about this...

Later in the fasting process I am planning to read these...

This is a journey that goes along with the Hunger and Thirst After Righteousness theme

I hope your fast goes really well and you hear clearly from God. My girlfriend just started her Daniel fast this week. I think if you feel called to do it, it will be a great thing! Looking forward to hearing what you do decide to share.
I don't post much, but I do enjoy your blog. Happy New Year!
